Where in the world do orchids grow? You will probably be surprised to learn where you can find orchids. The Orchid family (Orchidaceae) is very diverse and widespread, and often have colourful and fragrant blooms.

There are about 28,000 currently accepted species that can be found all over the planet except for Antarctica, more are regularly discovered.  Currently there are about 2,000 Bulbophyllum species, 1,500 Epidendrum species, 1,400 Dendrobium species and 1,000 Pleurothallis species and a variety of other genera, like Phalaenopsis and Cattleya.
