The Rlc. Chief Dancer is a spectacular Cattleya alliance hybrid, producing 15-18cm vibrant fuchsia flowers with a frilled golden lip and sweet citrus fragrance. This large-growing orchid (45-60cm) thrives in bright conditions (4,000-6,000 lux) and warm 24-30°C summer temperatures, requiring a coarse bark mix and excellent drainage. Part of the esteemed "Chief" hybrid series, it flowers reliably in late spring when given strong light and moderate humidity (60-75%). While uncommon in general cultivation, its dramatic floral display and vigorous growth make it a favourite among Cattleya enthusiasts. Water when the potting medium is nearly dry, and provide good air movement to prevent fungal issues in its dense foliage.
